Well it depends on who is doing and what you want done with it.
2 most expesive rooms to remodle, cabinets alone will be 5-15
grand
If you use a designer, get top of the line s/s appliances (not
a Wolf range - more like a Jenair downdraft), marble counter tops w/
matching sink, Italian tile, custom cherry cabinets (with 12'' back lit
lead glass upper wall cabinets), 4 part crown molding, Custom draperies,
Stickley dining table & chairs, antique accent pieces, etc for the kitchen
& for the bathroom a heated venetian tile floor with an 8'x3' steam shower
with custom glass enclosure, over sized whirpool tub, bidet, silent flush commode, converted antique dresser cabinet, high end fixtures & some ridiculous wallpaper you are looking at maybe $150,000 at the low end. If you do it yourself & shop carefully you can do alot for under $1000
I found tons of ideas for remodeling on HGTV. They are really
good. My boyfriend and I remodeled the bathroom for less then a $1000. The
same thing (a new sinc, tile, paint and closet door) would have ended up
costing us probably $3000-4000 by a contractor
What size are each? Will you buy new kitchen appliances? Where
do you live? These questions will be important as to how much it will cost
you to remodel. On average, kitchen remodeling will cost $20,000 for basics
of cabinetry, counter top, possibly a floor. A bath can be costly because
of need to move walls, pipes, etc. & new fixtures. Cost of $10,000 seems a
reasonable starting point. I am working on plans for remodeling our kitchen
& for turning two bedrooms & a bath into a master suite.

That would depend on the size of your kitchen or bathroom, and
to what extent you want to remodel. I'd suggest meauring the floor area
and fixture sizes then go price the supplies at Home Depot or some other
contracting supply store.
It depends on who will remodel it, how large it is, and what
you want done.
